Captain :- Zach

It was a cold damp morning in Yorkshire for our matches !
It was an excellent start with Will scoring Bury’s first try in the first few minutes of play. This was following an excellent run by Zach who passed the ball to Oscar who then passed it to Will.

Will scored the second try just before the end of the first half after another good run. The try was converted by Zach.

The team started the second half with the same determination that had built up during the first half. Zaman made a good pass to Ellis who then ran down the wing but unfortunately was tackled into touch close to the try line. Mikey scored Bury’s third but Dominic kicked the ball into the post while taking the conversion. The final try was scored and converted by Mikey again following some excellent passing and running.

The team were focused and turned on during the match which clearly shows in the final score. They are starting to play more consistently as a team but are still relying a lot on instructions from the side lines.

Our trip over the Pennines with passports at the ready at the newly formed Old Crossleyans U11’s team proved to a tougher encounter than the score line may suggest, they showed us how to ruck and it was just our ability in open play to break tackles and individual skills that created the try’s.
A really enjoyable day out and look forward to the return match.
