Bury 0 v 35 Tyldesley

Tyldesley were short of a couple of players so Jonah and Sam kindly agreed to play on their team.
We have played Tyldesley on numerous occasions and have always had a tough game, the boys were a little apprehensive as to how difficult a match is was going to be.
Unfortunately Tyldesley took control of the game early on with a try and conversion being scored within the first few minutes of the game.
Bury didn’t appear to be focusing all the time and silly mistakes were being made by ALL the players. There were a few good tackles and runs being made, but sadly we were unable to break through. Dom and Anna both had good runs after receiving good passes from scrums but lack of team support lead to Bury losing control of the ball and Tyldesley scoring another try and conversion each time.
The boys, Phil, Karen and parents were disappointed with the result especially when they all know they can play a lot better rugby. They need to remain focused and show more determination. The boys always seem to have a better game in the second half of a match – which can sometimes be a little too late !. There was improvement in the driving and mauling towards the end of the game but the boys need to be more consistent so that the moves they need to do to win will become automatic.

Captain :- Max
Man (Woman) of the Match – Anna. She always get stuck in and isn’t afraid to tackle any sized player.

Coaches Note:
After another very slow start, with all the players showing little desire to put the effort in and compete. This resulted in Bury being completely dominated by Tyldesley and losing the 1st half by 28 – 0. Well, it’s very rare for me to be annoyed at the players performance, but the lack of effort was the most disappointing thing, with a few strong words to describe our feelings the 2nd half had to improve….it did !! What a difference, tackles were now being made and a desire to win the ball was being shown, I think we can still play a lot better but the vast improvement from the earlier showing was encouraging, with us losing the 2nd half only 7 – 0.
A big thank you to Sam and Jonah for agreeing to playing for Tyldesley.
