Rossendale fall to the sword but never stopped competing..

Loose - Charlie, Hooker - Jordan, Tight - Gianni, Lock - Oliver, Lock - Tez, Scrummie - Wayne, Fly - Declan, Ins Ctr - Jay, Outside - Jacob, Wing - Brandon*, Wing - Adam, Fullback - Calum.

Rossendale preadvised us that they had some indefferent results coming into this game, and seeing our results asked us to go easy. In respect of this we put Oliver back into Lock from Inside Centre, and played every other back out of position including Brandon who had never played before, starting on the Wing.
Rossendale started strongly with "Harry" bulldozing through the middle but grounding the ball for a try ten metres short of the try line. Full credit he never gave up.
Jordan as Captain took advantage and took the ball and powered over for the first try. Further tries by Declan and Jacob, with Conversions by Gianni and Declan finished the first period at 19 - 0

Second period we tried to make it a bit easier for Rossendale in the scrum, and put Gianni and Tez out on the wings, and Oliver at Full Back, a combined weight of approx 25 Stone ???? Jay and Adam went into Locks and Declan went into Hooker. Calum filled back in at Scrummie and Wayne at No10. Brandon moved into Inside Centre.
Even though Rossendale competed very well in the scrum they had no answer to our Hooking. Further tries by Wayne , Jacob and Jay, with conversions by Gianni and Declan again ended this period at 19 - 0

Rossendale bravely and credit to them offered to play a third period. Our Captain Jordan offered to go off so another debutant, Cameron (playing in trainers), could have a run on the left wing. I think Phil, the Rossendale Coach was relieved to see Jordan rested. With a few positional changes again Rossendale started to dominate the scrums, and actually found the ball to feed their backs. "Tom" made an excellent run breaking two tackles before being stopped and stripped just short of the line by Jacob. A few moments later Jacob was toget his own medicine, on hearing a whistle he stopped, only to be bundled into touch by "Ben". The whistle was on the other pitch though....
Jacob, Wayne and Dec each scored a try, and sportingly offered the new lads a go at Conversions. Only Brandon was to succeed. Period finished 17 - 0

Bury 55 - 0 Rossendale
Man of the Match was close with Jacob just pipping Jordan.
Rossendales player we nominated was the Scrum Half.

Full credit to a good set of boys from the Valley, they offered to return a fixture when a spare date permits.
Thanks to Phil and his Rossendale team. Good Luck with your team.
